• Stolen Equipment: The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of construction equipment from a job site on Campbell Lakes Drive. The complainant reported Sept. 21 that a Caterpillar skid steer and mulcher attachment had been stolen sometime between Sept. 18 and Sept. 21. The equipment was valued at a combined $188,000. A GPS tracker on the property reportedly pinged at another location Sept. 19. Investigators were also advised that a nearby business might have surveillance footage.

• Stolen Trailer: Two suspects reportedly stole a trailer from Farragut High School early Sept. 20. According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, surveillance footage showed two men pulling the 12-foot, single-axle trailer by hand from the school’s southeast parking lot toward West End Avenue. The footage was not clear enough to identify the suspects. The trailer, which has Farragut High School branding on its wooden sides, was entered into a national law enforcement database as stolen.

• Stolen Firearm: A man reported Sept. 16 that a handgun was missing from his vehicle after he had taken the vehicle to a dealership for scheduled maintenance. According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, the man last saw the Glock 43 9 mm handgun in his vehicle Aug. 10 and noticed it was missing Aug. 14. He told deputies he searched his home and vehicle but could not locate the firearm. The handgun was valued at $500.

• Theft: A suspect allegedly stole a $29.97 Kate Spade magnetic wallet from Nordstrom Rack on Parkside Drive on Sept. 9. According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, surveillance footage showed the suspect remove the wallet from its packaging and later conceal it in a handbag while purchasing other merchandise. The suspect then left the store without paying for the wallet and departed in an SUV. Store personnel and law enforcement later used transaction information, social media photographs and a driver’s license photograph to identify a suspect.

• A man reported losing $8,100 after purchasing a watch through what he believed was a legitimate website, rexwatchsllc.com. According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, the man authorized a money transfer and received an invoice but became suspicious after the watch was not shipped. He later discovered duplicate invoice numbers while testing the website with another email address. The man contacted the legitimate business and was told the website was fraudulent and that efforts had been made to have it removed.
